$100 Million Podcast Deal

In 2022, Jason and Travis launched their weekly podcast, “New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce.” By August 2024, the brothers secured a lucrative three-year, $100 million contract with Amazon’s Wondery podcast service. This deal granted Wondery exclusive distribution and advertising rights for the podcast.

Early Life and High School

Born on November 5, 1987, in Westlake, Ohio, Jason grew up in Cleveland Heights. His parents, Donna, a banker, and Ed, a steel industry sales representative, raised him alongside his younger brother Travis, who would also become an NFL star. Jason attended Cleveland Heights High School, where he excelled in football as a running back and linebacker. Additionally, he played hockey and performed in the school’s jazz and symphonic bands as a baritone saxophonist.

College Career

Kelce went on to play football for the University of Cincinnati. After redshirting his first year, he played nine games in 2007, helping the team to a 10-3 record. In 2008, Cincinnati won the Big East with an 11-3 record, and in 2009, they remained undefeated in the regular season to claim another Big East title. Kelce’s final season in 2010 ended with a disappointing 4-8 record under new coach Butch Jones.

NFL Career with the Philadelphia Eagles

Selected in the sixth round of the 2011 NFL Draft, Jason Kelce quickly made his mark with the Philadelphia Eagles by becoming the first rookie center in franchise history to start all 16 regular-season games. In 2012, he missed most of the season due to injuries but returned strong in 2013, starting all 16 games and helping the Eagles to the playoffs. In early 2014, Kelce signed a six-year, $37.5 million contract extension and earned his first Pro Bowl selection. He would go on to earn another Pro Bowl nod in 2016.

Kelce had a standout 2017 season, earning first-team All-Pro honors and playing a crucial role in the Eagles’ victory over the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LII, the team’s first Super Bowl win. In 2018 and 2019, he earned two more All-Pro selections. He also signed a one-year contract extension in 2019, reached his 100th consecutive start for the Eagles in 2020, and continued to perform at a high level. He made the Pro Bowl again in 2021 and was named first-team All-Pro for the fourth time. After considering retirement in 2022, Kelce returned for another season, helping the Eagles reach Super Bowl LVII. He faced off against his brother Travis in that game, marking the first time two brothers played on opposing teams in a Super Bowl. Travis’ team, the Kansas City Chiefs, ultimately won the game.

Other Media Appearances

Jason Kelce’s media presence extends beyond football. In 2018, he and teammate Beau Allen appeared in a Super Bowl-themed episode of the TV show “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.” Following Super Bowl LVII, he and his brother Travis appeared in a sketch on “Saturday Night Live.”

In 2022, Kelce, alongside fellow Eagles players Lane Johnson and Jordan Mailata, released a Christmas album titled “A Philly Special Christmas.” The album, which included covers of holiday classics, was named after the famous “Philly Special” play from Super Bowl LII. All proceeds from the album were donated to the Children’s Crisis Treatment Center in Philadelphia.

Jason Kelce married Kylie McDevitt in 2018 after meeting her on a dating app. The couple has three daughters: Wyatt, Elliotte, and Bennett.
