The net worth of American professional football player Antonio Brown is -$3 million. Antonio filed for bankruptcy in Florida in May 2024, as we go into more detail about in the part that follows. He reported having only $50,000 in assets and $3 million in debt in his petition. There is a warning, though. Florida allows a debtor to keep their primary residence exempt from bankruptcy filing requirements. Antonio’s main residence is a Fort Lauderdale estate that he paid $6.6 million for in 2016 and is currently valued at $9 million.
Antonio Brown signed $80 million worth of NFL contracts over his career, albeit that amount includes money he did not get because of various scandals and sanctions for improper behavior, which we will go into more depth about later in this post. For instance, Antonio ought to have received a guaranteed $30 million salary for the 2019–2020 campaign. In the end, he only made $138,000 during the campaign. Between 2010 and 2018, he made $69 million playing for the Steelers alone.

Bankruptcy Filed in 2024
Antonio Brown filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on May 23, 2024. Antonio owes eight creditors $3 million, per his bankruptcy filings. A $1.2 million judgment owing to a truck driver who claims Brown assaulted him is one of his largest single debts. In that particular example, Brown did not show up for court, therefore the truck driver was given the judgment by default. He owes hundreds of thousands of dollars to different credit card companies, people, and even a plumber for $296. Antonio Brown was said to have fewer than $50,000 in assets as of May 2024 in the petition.
Antonio provided his address in the petition as his 180,000-square-foot estate in Fort Lauderdale. The house was purchased by Antonio in 2016 for $6.6 million. Today, its estimated value is $9 million. Antonio’s principal residence is completely shielded from the bankruptcy filing because Texas is a homestead state. Florida’s homestead legislation states that a property, regardless of its value, is protected in bankruptcy if it is situated within a municipality, as long as it is less than half an acre and the owner has been there for more than 1,215 days. Put another way, Antonio’s $9 million estate will remain untouchable despite his $3 million in debt. As long as he keeps up his mortgage payments, he can stay in the house.
Career Salary
Throughout his NFL career, Antonio Brown has made almost $80.5 million. Over three years, his initial deal with the Steelers paid $1.288. In his debut year, he made $393,000, and in his second year, he made $450,000. As he entered his third NFL season in 2012, Antonio inked a $42 million, five-year contract extension with the Steelers, increasing his salary to $9 million. In the end, he made $69 million over his nine seasons with the Steelers.
Antonio was the highest-paid wide receiver in the NFL for two of his career’s phases: once in 2017 and once again in 2019.
After spending two seasons with the New England Patriots for $5.4 million, Antonio played one season for the Raiders for $860,000, then two seasons for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for $4.5 million.

Child Support Concerns
Brown was ordered by a judge in April 2023 to be placed under arrest by Florida law enforcement for not paying his ex-girlfriend Wiltrice Jackson $30,000 in child support. In the end, he paid before being taken into custody. A judge issued the same order again in August 2023, this time about a purportedly unpaid $15,000 bill.
$1 million debt for jewellery
Shuki, a quirky celebrity “jewelry guy” who creates incredibly expensive handmade items for the affluent and famous, won a case against Antonio in February 2024. Brown did not reply to the lawsuit. Shuki ordered Brown to pay her almost $1 million for several pieces that Brown, according to the jeweler, borrowed but never paid for or returned.
In April 2023, Shuki filed a lawsuit against Brown, alleging that in 2022, he had lent Brown several items, including a pair of expensive diamond fingers that were his trademark, with the understanding that Brown would either return them or choose to purchase them after a fair amount of time. After that time had passed and Shuki was unable to get in touch with Brown, the lawsuit was started. Shuki calculated that the total value of the lent pieces was $1,095,000. He filed a lawsuit against Brown to recover this sum, but Brown did not reply in any manner. This results in the current default judgment, which places Brown responsible for the $1.095 million worth of jewelry, even if Shuki is probably happy to finally get the pieces back.
Florida Mansion and Additional Properties
Antonio bought a house in the Gibsonia neighborhood of Pittsburgh for $1.91 million in 2014. In 2021, he sold this house for $1.4 million. In 2019, Antonio spent $3.223 million on a brand-new house in the Californian neighborhood of Alamo, during his brief stint as an Oakland Raiders player. In February 2020, he sold this house for $3 million.
Antonio moved to Florida to live full-time recently. Antonio paid $6.6 million for an opulent property in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, in March 2016. There are 12 bedrooms and 14 bathrooms in the 18,000-square-foot house. The house is currently worth $9–10 million.
Childhood
In July 1988, Antonio Brown was born in Miami, Florida. He attended Miami Norland High School where he was a wide receiver and punt returner. Brown was a two-time First-team All-American and two-time MAC Special Teams Player of the Year at Central Michigan, where he played collegiate football.
NFL Career
Brown has played his whole career for the Pittsburgh Steelers, who selected him with pick #195 in the 2010 NFL Draft. In his NFL career, he was selected to the Pro Bowl four times, made the First Team All-Pro two times, and won the AFC Championship in 2010. In 2014, Brown led the NFL in receiving yards and was awarded the AFC Offensive Co-Player of the Year.
In 2014 and 2015, he led the NFL in receptions, and in 2014, the AFC led the league in receiving touchdowns. In addition to being the first player in NFL history to have at least five catches and 50 receiving yards in 35 straight games, Brown is also the first athlete to have 1,000 yards receiving and returns in a single season. In addition, he became the first NFL player to record at least 125 receptions in back-to-back seasons. Along with Calvin Johnson, he is one of just two players to have at least 5,000 receiving yards in three seasons.
From 2010 until 2018, Antonio was a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers.
In 2019, he played a brief stint with the Oakland Raiders. He was let go by the Raiders before the start of the season and was fined $215,000 for altercations with the general manager of the team.

Agreements and Disagreements
Antonio and the Steelers reached an agreement on a three-year, $1.288 million contract after Antonio was picked in June 2010. They decided on a five-year, $42.5 million agreement in July of 2012.
Antonio Brown and the Steelers agreed to a four-year, $68 million contract extension in February 2017. The deal paid Brown an average of $17 million annually. That was sufficient to make him the highest-paid wide receiver in NFL history until Odell Beckham Jr. received a contract worth $19 million beginning in 2018 and made him the highest-paid wide receiver ever. He was traded to the Oakland Raiders in March 2019 after two years of this agreement, receiving a restructured three-year, $50 million contract. Antonio should have received a $30 million signing bonus if everything had gone according to plan.
Antonio got into multiple verbal arguments with the Oakland Raiders’ management in August and September of 2019. The Raiders declared on September 7 that they were cutting Brown and that they would be taking back his $30 million signing bonus. Antonio revealed later that same day that he had agreed to a $15 million, one-year contract with the Patriots, with no guarantees. Therefore, he would have made a grave error if he had been injured after just one play. Was this always the plan? Was this a back-door approach for Antonio to join what may be Tom Brady’s final NFL season from a low-prospect team? We’ll find out in time.
Time eventually told. Antonio was cut by the Patriots on September 20, 2019, two weeks after essentially throwing a guaranteed $30 million down the toilet due to a sexual assault scandal that is still going strong. September 23 was the deadline for the first $5 million of his $9 million Patriots signing bonus. January 15 was the deadline for the $4 million second installment. He likely forfeited the $500,000 game roster bonuses and the $1 million basic salary that he was expected to receive. The signing incentive was subject to revocation, according to Antionio’s contract, if he “takes any action that materially undermines the public’s respect for, or is materially critical of, the Club’s ownership and coaches.” It’s unclear as of this writing if the $9 million will be lost if he is found not guilty of the sexual assault charges. Antonio’s guaranteed earnings for the 2019 season will drop from $30 million to $9 million if he doesn’t receive the $9 million signing bonus, leaving him with just $158,333 in total earnings.
Antonio signed a one-year contract worth $1.5 million in performance-based bonus incentives in addition to a base pay of $1 million when he joined the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in October 2020.
Antonio re-signed a one-year contract with the Bucs in April 2021. This deal contained a $2 million signing bonus, a base salary of $916,000, and $3.1 million in guaranteed money. With benchmarks and milestone incentives added, the deal could have been worth a total of $6.5 million. When Antonio stormed off the pitch in January 2022, he lost out on bonuses believed to be worth $1 million.

He welcomed a daughter with Wiltrice Jackson, his girlfriend, in March 2008. Antonio and Chelsie Kyriss are parents of four children: three sons and a daughter.
